OT:OT (Duende / Turf)
We are very excited to announce that the Duende party crew will be heading south down the A1 for our first venture in the 'south'. After our recent sell-out party in Leeds with Enchanted Rhythms and DJ Luz, we are thrilled that we will be displaying our Duende sound and ethos at Fez Club in Cambridge on Thursday 14th November.
For those who don't know us, Duende is a party collective that started in Nottingham who now are now based in the thriving city of Leeds. Our aim is to showcase rising local talent alongside our favourite selectors from the UK and elsewhere. We create friendly, intimate party atmospheres with diverse and open-minded DJs providing the soundtrack.
For our first Cambridge edition, we have four very exciting up-and-coming selectors. Headlining we have Douglas, founder and head honcho of Duende which has been running for over a year now, having invited artists such as Jon Rust, Enchanted Rhythms and DJ Luz. Aside from starting Duende, Douglas himself has solidified a presence on the Leeds circuit over the past few years, having played at most clubs in the city and supported the likes of Dr Rubinstein, Anthony Naples, Central, Pender Street Steppers, Will Lister, anu and more. Expect to see Douglas weave together bleepy house, UK bass, breakbeat, two step and electro with energy and purpose.
For support, we are inviting Hattie Hammans. Hattie has made a huge impact on Cambridge's night life, founding and soundtracking Playtime. With eclectic selections, ranging from 90s hip-hop to jungle, Hattie was the perfect fit for our party. HH represents everything we at Duende love about parties and will undoubtedly bring suitable energy to Fez Club.
Accompanying Hattie will be George Manley, resident at the popular Turf night in Cambridge. George has been a part of the Duende journey from the very beginning, headlining our first ever party in Nottingham with his brother Harry. With a keen ear for ambient, breakbeat, electro, UK bass and jungle, we are buzzed for George to join us at Duende for the second time.
Going b2b with George will be Duende's very own OT:OT, who is also a resident at Turf. Oli has established himself as a deep digger of delightful oddities, as comfortable spinning arabic disco and dub as he is breakbeat and ghetto funk, so expect the unexpected in his b2b with George.
With every Duende event, it is important that dancers respect our safer spaces policy. We have a zero tolerance approach to any form of discrimination at our parties, including (but not limited to) racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and xenophobia. If you feel in anyway uncomfortable, please find a member of the Duende team (located on the door or by the stage) or a member of bar staff who will direct you accordingly.
All profits from our events are donated to our chosen charities. For this event, profits will be donated to the Nottingham Music Hub and Blue Smile, a Cambridge charity using art to help young people cope with mental health issues.
Wiggles guaranteed, come join us for our debut Cambridge party!
